Hi - sorry about the clips. I had a security issue and had to lock down some permissions. You should be able to access them now.

Hi Carlos -- I have a GG Modern that I absolutely LOVE. the "D" series pickups are not as tight as the "S" series pickups, especially in the hot models. My GG Modern has taken the place as my favorite sounding guitar in the bridge position, but I'm still not sold on the neck position of a 24 fret guitar.....I think the 22 fret standards that I have still have a better tone that the 24 fret moderns.

To my ears maple isn't brighter, it just cuts better in the mix, especially when paired with alder. Not much low end in that scenario, but when you're playing with a band that shouldn't matter.

That would be fun! If you send me the two guitars I'd be more than happy to create a comparison video! ;-)

You can get the Pro series for less that 2k but then you have no control over the specs. If you are very specific about what you want for a classic (and I would HIGHLY suggested getting the SSC system), you're still looking at the 2-3k range.

I've owned many PRS over the years. Started with a '96 Custom 24, then an Archtop II, Archtop Spruce, McCarty Rosewood, McCarty Soapbar, and McCarty IRW Soapbar. All were great guitars and I very well may own another PRS some day. I particularly loved the 10th anniversary model with the ebony fingerboard. Also love the original Modern Eagle and the current production DGT....awesome guitars.
